RN – MST/PCU (Med Surg Tele / Progressive Care) Process: Profile Review + Manager Interview Important Requirements Must pass Dysrhythmia Exam (80% required; 2 attempts max) before signing contract Failure = DNU for 6 months (CS AZ & Sacramento region) 50-mile radius rule Cannot have worked (FT/PT/PRN) within the past year for: CommonSpirit Health CHI Dignity Health Unit Details Beds: 30 (three 10-bed units) Ratios: 1:5–6 Shifts: 12-hour shifts (7:00–7:30) Weekend: Every other weekend Nights: Fri/Sat Days: Sat/Sun Holidays: Rotational Charting: (Not specified) Certifications Required BLS ACLS Experience Required Minimum 1 year Med/Surg Telemetry experience preferred Must read & interpret tele strips Must be willing to care for both MST & PCU patients May be required to precept nursing students Patient Population Surgical: Total hip/knee replacements Small bowel resection Hysterectomy Exploratory lap Medical: MRSA, C-diff Suicide attempt Drug/alcohol withdrawal COPD, Pneumonia, COVID Chest pain (telemetry) Drips No titratable drips Support Charge RN oversees 50 inpatient beds (MST, PEDS, Acuity Adaptable MCU) NAs ratio: 10–15 patients If no NA → RN takes 3 patients (primary care model) Remote Monitor Techs available (RNs read strips) RT support for stable CPAP/BiPAP Floating Multi Care Unit Pediatric Unit (adult MST patients) West Campus MedSurg Tele Dress Code Any scrub color except camouflage
