Description

Unit Information

Department: Medical Imaging — IR RN
Floor: 3rd Floor
RN Staff: Approximately 11 RNs
Day Shift Coverage: 6–7 RNs
Night Shift: On-call coverage
Equipment: CT, MRI, X-Ray, Ultrasound, Interventional Radiology
EMR System: Meditech

Key Responsibilities

Provide nursing care during image-guided diagnostic and interventional procedures
Assist physicians with invasive procedures performed in IR, CT, and Ultrasound suites
Monitor patients before, during, and after procedures
Manage sedation, patient safety, and post-procedure recovery
Support MRI procedures involving anesthesia and pacemaker observation
Maintain accurate documentation in Meditech EMR
Participate in call coverage as scheduled

Required Qualifications

Active RN license
Minimum experience in Medical Imaging / Interventional Radiology preferred
ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support) — Required
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) — Required

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with Meditech EMR
Previous experience at Swedish Medical Center (SMC)
Prior travel nursing experience in IR or Medical Imaging

Common Procedures on Unit

Image-guided diagnostic and interventional procedures
Invasive IR procedures using CT and Ultrasound guidance
MRI procedures with anesthesia support
Pacemaker monitoring during MRI
