Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly skilled Critical Care Unit (CCU) Registered Nurse (RN) for a night shift contract opportunity. This role is ideal for a nurse with strong critical thinking abilities and recent ICU/CCU experience who thrives in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment.

Schedule Details

• Shift: 12-hour nights (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours: 36 hours per week
• Call: None
• Weekend Rotation: Every 3rd weekend (Saturday & Sunday)
• Additional Requirement: Must work a minimum of 2 Mondays and 2 Fridays within a 6-week scheduling period

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to critically ill cardiac and medical ICU patients
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and continuous monitoring
• Manage ventilators, drips, and advanced cardiac monitoring equipment
• Administer medications and titrate vasoactive infusions per protocol
• Respond rapidly to changes in patient condition
• Collaborate with intensivists, cardiologists, and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation
• Educate patients and families regarding treatment plans

Qualifications

• Active RN license (state-specific or compact license, as applicable)
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU/CCU experience required
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Strong cardiac rhythm interpretation skills
• Experience with critical care equipment and titratable drips
• Excellent communication and clinical decision-making skills
