Description
Job Summary:
The RN provides specialized nursing care to individuals and patient groups using clinical judgment and evidence-based practice. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in alignment with the ANA Code of Ethics and the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Care is culturally sensitive, age-specific, and delivered in partnership with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct nursing care to stepdown/telemetry patients
- Monitor cardiac patients including acute MI, arrhythmias, CHF, cardiomyopathy, and chest pain
- Perform cardiac monitoring and stroke assessments (NIH Stroke Scale)
- Administer infusion therapy, blood transfusions, injections, and central line care
- Manage patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and APAP
- Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
- Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards
- Participate in ongoing education and professional development
Requirements:
Experience:
- Minimum 1+ year Stepdown/Telemetry experience (Required)
- Cardiac monitoring experience (Required)
- Stroke experience highly preferred
- Leadership experience such as Charge RN or Preceptor (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications:
- Active Ohio RN License or Compact License (Required)
- BLS – AHA (Required)
- ACLS – AHA (Required)
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification (Preferred)
Education:
- Diploma in Nursing (Required)
- BSN (Preferred)
