Job Summary:

The RN provides specialized nursing care to individuals and patient groups using clinical judgment and evidence-based practice. Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating care in alignment with the ANA Code of Ethics and the Ohio Nurse Practice Act. Care is culturally sensitive, age-specific, and delivered in partnership with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team.

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct nursing care to stepdown/telemetry patients
• Monitor cardiac patients including acute MI, arrhythmias, CHF, cardiomyopathy, and chest pain
• Perform cardiac monitoring and stroke assessments (NIH Stroke Scale)
• Administer infusion therapy, blood transfusions, injections, and central line care
• Manage patients requiring BiPAP, CPAP, and APAP
• Communicate effectively with interdisciplinary team members
• Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards
• Participate in ongoing education and professional development

Requirements:

Experience:

• Minimum 1+ year Stepdown/Telemetry experience (Required)
• Cardiac monitoring experience (Required)
• Stroke experience highly preferred
• Leadership experience such as Charge RN or Preceptor (Preferred)

Licenses & Certifications:

• Active Ohio RN License or Compact License (Required)
• BLS – AHA (Required)
• ACLS – AHA (Required)
• NIH Stroke Scale Certification (Preferred)

Education:

• Diploma in Nursing (Required)
• BSN (Preferred)
