Qualifications:
- LPN license
- School experience recommended but not required.
Role Overview:
The School LPN position involves providing dedicated 1:1 care to a pre-K student during transport to class during evaluation period. The role focuses on essential nursing tasks such as g-tube feeding, monitoring for signs of seizure activity, and mobility assistance, ensuring the student's health and safety during transportation. The person will work as student’s aide on the bus and work with the school nurse at Elementary on various tasks between bus rides.
Job Details:
- Schedule: 7:30am -12:45pm
- Dates: ASAP- 4/24/26 with the possibility for extension
- Monday-Thursday
- Caseload: 1:1 Male Pre-K Student
- In-person
- Rate: $25-$32 per hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Follow plans created by RN to monitor for signs of hypoglycemia. If signs are noted, conduct a finger stick blood glucose check. Treat with orange juice via g-tube if indicated in nursing plan and medical orders.
- If student has a g-tube feeding going while on the bus, monitor the pump for kinks, occlusions, or other issues and troubleshoot as outlined in nursing plan.
- Monitor for signs of seizure activity. If student has a seizure, follow nursing plan and medical orders for student safety, timing of the seizure, and give sublingual medication if indicated.
- Work as student’s aide on the bus
- Work with the school nurse on various tasks between bus rides.
