Description

Job Title: Surgical Tech 1 – Open Heart
Location: Peoria, IL (Methodist Medical Center)
Start Date: 03/30/2026
Duration: Through 08/15/2026
Schedule: Days | Monday–Friday | 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM | 40 hrs/week

Position Summary:

Seeking an experienced Surgical Technologist to support Open Heart procedures. Candidate will assist surgeons during operative and invasive procedures, maintain sterile field, prepare instruments and equipment, and anticipate intraoperative needs in a fast-paced surgical environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and maintain sterile field
Prepare instruments, sutures, and surgical equipment
Assist surgeon during simple to complex procedures
Perform first scrub / assist duties
Anticipate surgical needs and respond to intraoperative changes
Ensure accurate surgical counts with circulating RN
Support quality improvement and team collaboration

Requirements:

Associate’s Degree OR Surgical Technology Certificate
BLS (AHA)
Open Heart experience preferred
Strong teamwork and communication skills
