Description:
The Registered Nurse on Maternal Child Health is responsible for the provision of direct patient care to a designated group of patients within the Maternal Child Health department.
This position will work collaboratively with Unit leadership to follow the scope of practice for nursing governing bodies that apply to Maternal Child Health (AWONN, ACOG, NNA, AORN).
These responsibilities will include the observation data collection, planning, implementation and evaluation of the patient’s physical, psychological, emotional educational and spiritual needs. v
Education: Minimum of an Associates of Applied Science in Nursing.
Certification in BLS upon hire, ACLS, PALS, and NRP within 6 months of hire.
Experience: preferred with knowledge of post-partum
Licensure: Current NYS RN license.
Physical Requirements: Repetitive use of hands and fingers (e.g. use of the computer keyboard) light lifting in regards to patient care. Ability to sit, stand, or walk for long periods of time as it pertains to patient care.
Must be physically able to operate the equipment used for the job.
