Job Opportunity: Surgical Tech – Operating Room

Location: Mullica Hill, New Jersey

Contract Length: 13 weeks (approximately 3 months)
Shift: 6:45 AM – 5:15 PM, 10-hour shifts, 4 days per week

Job Overview

• Assist with surgical procedures in the Operating Room within the scope of law.
• Function as an integral part of the nursing team, working with RNs to care for patients.
• Provide sub-acute care or perform routine activities independently.
• Experience with a large number of total joint surgeries and minimally invasive spine procedures (e.g., ACDF, posterior lumbar) required.
• Ability to scrub multiple service lines, including orthopedic and neuro primary cases.

Required Experience

• Minimum 4 years of Surgical Tech experience (highest required years of experience).
• Prior travel experience is not explicitly required.

Required Qualifications

• Surgical Technologist with at least 4 years of experience, including experience within the last year.
• Experience with a large number of total joint procedures.
• Ability to scrub neurosurgery service line.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association.
• High school education or its equivalent is required.

Contract Details

• Contract length: 13 weeks.
• Scrubs are provided by the hospital.
• Return to Office (RTO) allowed no more than 3 days.
• On-call requirement: 24-hour call shifts on Friday evenings (8 PM – 7 AM), Sunday (7 AM – 7 PM), or one Saturday 7 AM – 7 AM per schedule.

Orientation & Onboarding

• Completion of full orientation is mandatory; failure to complete results in immediate termination.
• Orientation includes virtual welcome meeting, online HealthStream modules, in-person classes (typically Tuesday-Thursday), and unit-based orientation scheduled by manager.
• Badge ID must be obtained in person during orientation; photo submissions are not accepted. Badge required for clock-ins.

Additional Requirements & Screenings

• Background check, drug screen, physical exam, and various health screenings/vaccinations including COVID-19, Hepatitis B, Influenza, MMR, TdaP, Varicella.
• Employment, educational, and reference verifications.
• Compliance with confidentiality, core mandatory annual training, and other regulatory checks (e.g., FACIS 3M, OIG, SAM sanctions).

This position is ideal for experienced Surgical Techs with strong skills in orthopedic and neuro surgical procedures seeking a 13-week contract in New Jersey.
