Position Information:
• Facility Department/Cost Center: Observation/dept 615/co id 16900
• Role (RN, Tech, LPN, PT, etc.): RN
• Specialty: Observation patient types
• Number of Openings: 10
• Shift: 5 Days/5 Nights
• Weekly Guaranteed Hours: 72ppd, 0.9FTE, 12 Hour Shifts
• Weekend Hours: must work weekends/holidays
• Call Requirements: Nothing mandated
• Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale Competency, Tele/ECG Competency, Optional: TNCC, ENPC
• Years of Experience: 1
• Float Requirements: Yes, to Medical/Cardiac/Neuro-Ortho Units
• Additional Notes: no guarantee on block scheduling
Unit Information:
• Number of Beds: 10
• Patient Ratios: 1:5 apprx, no defined ratios
• Equipment: cardiac monitor
• EHR: Cerner
• Supervisor: ED Director
• Patient Population e.g. geriatric, adult, peds, etc.: Adult only at this time (>18yo)
Hiring Profile:
• Must Have Skills/Experience: 1 year med/surg experience
• Preferred Skillset/Experience: telemetry experience
• Common Diagnosis/Treatment: Any patient meeting observation status criteria, for ex. Chest pain, asthma exac, TIA, Abd Pain, Urinary issues, Blood sugar issues, DVT/PE, Cellulitis, Post procedural monitoring, minor trauma.
