Patient Care Technician (CCHT) – Dialysis Outpatient Clinic
Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: 40 hours/week + overtime as needed
Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 36 hours/week (see details below)
Experience Required: 12+ months recent dialysis experience
Certification Required: Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT)
Floating: Required within 50 miles About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Patient Care Technician (CCHT) to join a busy outpatient dialysis clinic. In this role, you will provide hands-on patient care and play a critical part in delivering safe, high-quality hemodialysis treatments to patients with End Stage Kidney Disease (ESKD).
This position is ideal for dialysis technicians who are patient-focused, dependable, and experienced in dialysis procedures and equipment.Key Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of a licensed nurse
  • Assist with pre- and post-dialysis patient assessments and documentation
  • Monitor and document dialysis treatment parameters on Dialysis Flow Sheets
  • Observe patients during treatment and report changes in condition to nursing leadership
  • Assist with emergency operational procedures related to dialysis treatment
  • Initiate basic CPR measures and respond to emergency situations as required
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and treatment data
  • Support a safe, efficient, and compassionate treatment environment

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician (CCHT) – required
  • Minimum 12 months of recent dialysis experience
  • Hands-on experience with dialysis machines and procedures
  • Completion of a hemodialysis training program (theory and practice)
  • Current CPR certification (or ability to obtain)

Preferred Experience

  • Prior patient care experience in a hospital, clinic, or dialysis facility
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Ability to remain calm and effective in emergency situations

Schedule & Floating Expectations

  • Shifts will be discussed in detail during the interview process
  • The role requires a commitment of 40 hours per week, with overtime and floating to area sites as needed
  • Floating is required to locations within 50 miles of the primary site

Guaranteed Hours & Eligibility (Required)

  • There is a minimum guarantee of 36 hours per week

Please note: You are NOT eligible for guaranteed hours if any of the following occur:

  • Schedule requests or restrictions
  • Refusal to float to required sites
  • Late arrival to a scheduled shift
  • Leaving a shift early
  • Calling out of a scheduled shift
  • Planned or unplanned time off
