Job Title: Pediatric Pelvic Health Physical Therapist
Facility: Boston Children’s Hospital
Location: Waltham, MA
Start Date: ASAP
Schedule: Full-time; includes regular Saturday coverage after orientation
Sign-On Bonus: $10,000 (new hires eligible)
Position Overview
Boston Children’s Hospital is seeking an experienced Physical Therapist to help expand our Pediatric Pelvic Floor Program. This role is part of a collaborative interdisciplinary outpatient rehabilitation team providing specialized care to pediatric patients with pelvic health conditions.
The Physical Therapist will treat patients of all genders experiencing pelvic floor dysfunction, pelvic pain, and incontinence, while also supporting patients with developmental, orthopedic, and neurological conditions. Primary practice location is Waltham, with initial onboarding and training in Boston.
Boston Children’s Hospital will cover the cost of CAPP-Pelvic certification for qualified hires interested in specializing in pediatric pelvic health.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive physical therapy evaluations and assessments for pediatric patients.
- Conduct pelvic floor muscle assessments and treatment for patients with pelvic floor dysfunction.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient age, history, and diagnosis.
- Establish measurable goals and deliver appropriate therapeutic interventions and procedures.
- Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as needed.
- Provide patient and family education, including discharge planning and home exercise programs.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams to ensure coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate documentation and medical records in compliance with departmental standards.
- Prepare reports, referrals, and other communications for schools, providers, and payors.
- Assign appropriate billing codes and charges for reimbursement.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required
Experience
- Minimum 3 years of pediatric physical therapy experience
- Pelvic floor therapy experience preferred (adult or pediatric)
- Additional mentorship and training available
Certifications
- Physical Therapist License – Massachusetts required
- APTA CAPP-Pelvic certification preferred (Boston Children’s will sponsor certification if hired)
Skills
- Strong clinical reasoning and analytical abilities
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
