1. General job duties. Types of procedures required. Care for patients with a wide range of medical conditions (COPD, CHF, Diabetes, sepsis, renal, DKA, alcohol withdrawal, overdoses, pneumonia, other respiratory conditions, neuro/surgical/cardiac patients, Bipap, Cpap, trach’s, chest tubes, NG tubes, PICC lines, central lines, ablation/cath lab patients, dialysis, etc.…... 2. Equipment utilized in the unit/dept. (Is there computerized charting, medication systems, etc.) EMR: EPIC, Pyxis medication dispensing 3. Required skills and minimum years of experience. Must be able to read telemetries, must be comfortable with chest tubes 4. Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc) ACLS, BLS, NIHSS 5.Shift or schedule requirements. (Will the employee ever work alone? Is call required? If so, how often? Are weekends required?) Travel RN would work three 12-hour shifts with rotating nights, weekends, and holiday. Travel RN would be put into a holiday & weekend rotation. 6.Floating to other units/departments. (If so, to which units/departments?) Travel RNs are first to float. Can go to ICU if they have extensive ICU experience, otherwise would go to Gen Med floors. The travel RN would take whatever assignment is required for that level of care. Example: ICU: 2 patients, Gen Med: 5-6 patients 7.Bed size/number of rooms for this unit/dept. 32 beds, all private rooms 8Nurse to patient ratio of this unit. (nursing only) 3-4 patients/nurse 9.Dress Code: Scrubs, any color
