Position Summary

The Cardiovascular Interventional Technologist assists physicians during diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral vascular procedures. Under physician supervision, this role operates fluoroscopic imaging equipment, assists with catheterization procedures, and provides direct patient care to ensure safe and successful completion of cardiovascular interventions.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate fluoroscopic imaging equipment during cardiac and vascular procedures
• Provide scrub assistance to cardiologists during diagnostic and interventional cases
• Monitor patient condition and respond appropriately during procedures
• Assist with catheters, guidewires, and cardiovascular equipment
• Document procedural events in the hemodynamic monitoring system
• Maintain sterile technique and radiation safety practices
• Support patient positioning and preparation for procedures
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and Cath Lab staff to ensure efficient workflow

Required Qualifications

Education

• Graduate of an AMA-approved School of Radiologic Technology

Licensure & Certifications

• Active Radiologic Technologist License through the Ohio Department of Health (ODH)
• ARRT (R) – Registered Radiologic Technologist
• BLS Certification required
• ACLS Certification required (or must obtain within 1 year)

Experience

• Minimum 1 year Radiologic Technologist experience in:
  • Diagnostic Imaging
  • Special Procedures
  • Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab (preferred)

Preferred Certifications

• CVI – Cardiovascular Interventional Specialist
• RCIS – Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist
• RCES – Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist

Required Skills

• Knowledge of cardiovascular anatomy and physiology
• Experience with pressure monitoring and EKG interpretation
• Familiarity with invasive cardiovascular procedure equipment
• Understanding of radiation safety and aseptic technique
• Ability to enter procedural data into hemodynamic computer systems
• Strong communication skills with physicians, patients, and clinical staff
