Description
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient assessments, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
- Deliver safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and established care plans.
- Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and postpartum care needs.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Demonstrate effective delegation and supervision of assigned team members.
- Prioritize patient care using critical thinking and clinical judgment.
- Promote patient rights, safety, and infection control standards.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes.
- May function as Charge Nurse, assisting with assignments, patient flow, and staff coordination when required.
Education & Experience
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
- Current Washington State RN License.
- Acute care nursing experience preferred.
- Minimum 1 year RN experience preferred for specialty nursing units.
Required Certifications
- BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider Level) – within 30 days of hire.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – AAP Advanced) required for Mother Baby Unit nurses.
- ACLS (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
- AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of completing L&D training.
- STABLE Certification preferred (within 6 months of orientation).
- RN-C specialty certification preferred.
