Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments, focusing on physiologic, psychosocial, and cognitive status.
• Deliver safe and effective nursing care in accordance with hospital policies, procedures, and established care plans.
• Educate patients and families on health conditions, treatments, and postpartum care needs.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record (EMR) in compliance with regulatory standards.
• Demonstrate effective delegation and supervision of assigned team members.
• Prioritize patient care using critical thinking and clinical judgment.
• Promote patient rights, safety, and infection control standards.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality patient care and outcomes.
• May function as Charge Nurse, assisting with assignments, patient flow, and staff coordination when required.

Education & Experience

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Washington State RN License.
• Acute care nursing experience preferred.
• Minimum 1 year RN experience preferred for specialty nursing units.

Required Certifications

• BLS (AHA Healthcare Provider Level) – within 30 days of hire.
• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program – AAP Advanced) required for Mother Baby Unit nurses.
• ACLS (AHA) within 6 months of hire.
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring within 3 months of completing L&D training.
• STABLE Certification preferred (within 6 months of orientation).
• RN-C specialty certification preferred.
