Position Overview
CHI St. Alexius Health Williston is seeking an experienced Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for locum tenens coverage beginning April 2026. The APP will work onsite in the Emergency Department alongside a 24/7 Emergency Medicine physician, providing direct patient care in a community hospital setting.
This assignment offers a predictable schedule with rotating weekends and holidays and is ideal for APPs comfortable practicing independently within a collaborative ED model.
Schedule & Workload
- Three 12‑hour day shifts per week
- Typical shift: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM
- Rotating weekends and holidays
- Approximately 45 ED patients per day
- Level IV trauma center
Clinical Responsibilities
- Evaluation and treatment of patients presenting to the Emergency Department
- Standard emergency care in a Level IV trauma setting
- Collaboration with onsite Emergency Medicine physicians
- Documentation and order entry in Meditech EMR
Facility Details
- 25‑bed Critical Access Hospital
- Average daily inpatient census: 12.7
- Licensed for 25 inpatient beds, including OB
- Additional 19 observation beds
- Full nursing support staff coverage
- One MD staffed 24/7 in the Emergency Department
- One APP staffed daily for 12‑hour coverage
Compensation
- $135/Hour
Requirements
- Board Certified NP or PA
- Active North Dakota medical license
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, and TNCC or ATLS required
- Active DEA (North Dakota)
- Clean malpractice history preferred
