Description
Travel RN – Med Surg / Orthopedics
Unit Details:
This position supports both the Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical units in a patient-centered acute care environment.
Unit Information:
• Orthopedic Unit: 30 beds
• Medical-Surgical Unit: 37 beds
• Typical Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1
Staffing & Support:
• Patient Care Technicians (PCTs) and Student Nurse Externs (SNEs) assist in the tech role
• Unit Secretary available during day shift hours
Documentation System:
• Meditech EMR
Scheduling Requirements:
• Schedules are created in 4-week increments
• Full-time staff are required to work 4 weekend shifts per schedule period (example: 3 Saturdays and 1 Sunday or similar rotation)
Floating Policy:
• Nurses may float to other inpatient units to take patient assignments
• May also float to assist with tasks in CCU and the Emergency Department as needed
Patient Population:
• Orthopedic and Medical-Surgical patients
• Candidates with all levels of experience are encouraged to apply
Required Certifications:
• BLS (Basic Life Support)
