Interventional Radiology RN – Travel Assignment

📍 Mission Viejo, CA
13-Week Contract

We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology Registered Nurse (IR RN) for a 13-week travel assignment at a leading acute care hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. This role involves assisting with IR procedures, monitoring patients during sedation, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary care team to ensure high-quality patient outcomes.

Schedule: Day Shift – 4x10s (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM)

Job Duties

Provide nursing care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures in a fast-paced acute care environment.
Assist physicians during procedures such as cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology procedures.
Prepare patients for procedures by verifying medical history, obtaining consent, and ensuring proper preparation.
Monitor patients throughout procedures including vital signs, sedation levels, and overall condition.
Administer and monitor procedural sedation and medications according to protocol.
Circulate during procedures and ensure all sterile instruments and equipment are available.
Provide post-procedure monitoring, recovery care, and patient education.
Accurately document patient care and procedures using the Epic electronic health record system.
Respond to stroke emergencies and support stroke intervention procedures.
Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and interdisciplinary teams to deliver safe and effective patient care.
Participate in on-call rotations and respond within 30 minutes when on stroke call.

Requirements
Active CA RN License
Minimum 1 year Interventional Radiology experience
Epic charting experience required
Travel experience required (No first-time travelers)
BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications required
Experience with procedural sedation and cardiac cath/IR procedures preferred
Must be able to participate in on-call rotation
