Position: Surgical Technologist (CVOR)

Education Requirement:

• Must be a graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program

Certifications:

• BLS required
• CST preferred but not required

Experience Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years of current or very recent Open-Heart experience required
• Strong critical thinking skills required
• Knowledge of central processing and surgical instrumentation required
  
  Floating Requirement:
• Surgical Tech may be required to float/assist in General Surgery when CVOR volumes are low
• Work Schedule:
• 40 hours per week
• Option to work either:
  • Four (4) 10-hour shifts, or
  • Five (5) 8-hour shifts (6:00 AM – 2:30 PM)
• Schedule may be arranged based on the traveler’s preference
  
  Call Requirements:
• 2–3 days of call per week (depending on staffing levels)
• Weekend Call:
• Starts after shift ends on Friday
• Continues through Monday morning until 7:00 AM
• Holiday Call:
• Possible holiday call rotation depending on how holidays fall during the assignment
