Description
Position Overview:
The Nurse Practitioner will work alongside a dedicated team of physicians providing high quality care to patients in an orthopedic setting. This role involves conducting comprehensive assessments, managing pain, prescribing medications, and assisting with procedures to improve patient outcomes. The ideal candidate will be proactive, self-driven, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Duties & Responsibilities: Patient Assessments: Conduct thorough evaluations of patients experiencing pain, including reviewing medical history, performing physical exams, and interpreting diagnostic test results. Evaluate the intensity, location, duration, and impact of pain on patient’s daily functions. Collaborative Care: Work closely with the physician team to establish diagnoses and develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs. Regulatory Compliance: Adhere to legal and regulatory guidelines. Interventional Support: Assist with interventional procedures as necessary. Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about management strategies and self-care techniques. Promote lifestyle modifications and stress reduction techniques to improve overall well-being. Treatment Adherence Counseling: Guide patients on the importance of adhering to prescribed treatment plans and lifestyle changes for optimal recovery and management.
Education & Training: Licensing: Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of New York.
Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in outpatient orthopedics (preferred). New graduates with a strong interest in orthopedics will also be considered.
Knowledge & Experience: Experience in an outpatient orthopedic program is preferred.
Skills & Abilities: Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. Strong independent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and educate patients effectively.
