Registered Nurse – ER / Med-Surg / PCU Float (Night Shift)
Location: Claremont, New Hampshire
Facility: Valley Regional Hospital
Job Type: Permanent / Full-Time

Position Overview
Valley Regional Hospital is seeking an experienced Resource Registered Nurse (RN) to support multiple units including Emergency Department (ED), Medical-Surgical (Med-Surg), and Progressive Care Unit (PCU).
This float position requires a highly skilled RN who is flexible, confident, and able to work independently in a small rural hospital environment. The nurse will assist with admissions, transfers, and direct patient care while supporting different departments as needed.
Schedule
- Shift: 12-Hour Nights
- Hours: 36 hours guaranteed weekly
- Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
- On-Call: None
Compensation
- Hourly Range: $31.00 – $43.00 (based on experience)
- Annual Salary Range: $64,480 – $89,440 (based on 40-hour week)
- Relocation Assistance: Potential reimbursement available
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional nursing care across ER, Med-Surg, and PCU units
- Perform comprehensive head-to-toe assessments and reassessments
- Monitor patient conditions and respond quickly to changes in status
- Administer medications following six medication rights
- Assist physicians with procedures and treatments
- Interpret cardiac monitoring and dysrhythmias according to ACLS protocols
- Manage hemodynamic monitoring, fluid balance, and electrolyte management
- Develop and revise individualized patient care plans
- Educate patients and families regarding treatments and care plans
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to ensure quality care
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience
- Experience in Emergency Department, Med-Surg, and PCU
- Ability to float between departments and adapt quickly
- ACLS and BLS certifications (AHA)
- NH RN License or Compact License (must be in hand at submission)
- COVID-19 Vaccination Required
Additional Requirements
- Must be comfortable working in a small rural facility
- Strong ability to work independently and manage multiple patient needs
- Willingness to assist with transfers, admissions, and cross-unit support
- PALS or ENPC required within 6 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in rural or critical access hospitals
- Strong multi-unit clinical experience across ED and inpatient settings
