Position Overview

A leading medical center in Watertown, NY is seeking an experienced Travel Radiology Specialist Assistant for a 13‑week assignment. This role supports radiologists in performing a wide range of image‑guided procedures while ensuring safe, efficient, and patient‑centered care.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform patient assessments and deliver age‑appropriate, compassionate care
• Assist supervising physicians with radiologic procedures and patient management
• Maintain patient flow, organize daily workload, and support clinical staff
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and uphold all safety and regulatory standards
• Perform fluoroscopic procedures including barium studies
• Conduct joint injections using fluoroscopy or ultrasound guidance
• Perform paracentesis, thoracentesis, and abscess drain placements
• Complete bone marrow biopsies and image‑guided tissue biopsies (US/CT)
• Perform ultrasound‑guided and stereotactic breast biopsies with clip placement
• Prepare procedure rooms, manage equipment, and maintain supply inventory
• Document procedures, imaging findings, and patient outcomes accurately
• Educate patients, obtain informed consent, and provide pre/post‑procedure instructions
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety and infection control protocols

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved program recognized by the New York State Education Department
• Bachelor’s degree in Radiologic Technology or related field preferred
• Certification as Radiologist Assistant (RA) or Physician Assistant (PA) with radiology focus preferred
• ARRT certification in Radiography required; advanced certifications (CT, US, IR, RRA) highly desirable
• BLS required; ACLS preferred
