Location: Hermiston, Oregon
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: 12-Hour Days (7:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
Scheduled Hours: 36 Hours per Week

Position Overview
The Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) provides direct and individualized nursing care to adult patients before and after surgical procedures. Responsibilities include assessing patient conditions, administering medications, monitoring vital signs, and collaborating with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The RN is responsible for initiating and maintaining the computerized Plan of Care upon admission and responding quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to medical-surgical patients
• Assess patient conditions and monitor vital signs
• Administer medications and treatments as ordered
• Document patient care and progress in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
• Maintain patient confidentiality and follow hospital policies
• Float to other departments where qualified to perform patient care

Requirements

• Minimum 3 years of Medical-Surgical RN experience.
• Current RN License in the State of Oregon
• BLS, ACLS, PALS

Education
Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing
Preferred: BSN or MSN

Preferred:

• Certified Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (CMSRN)
• Previous Medical-Surgical nursing experience
• CRASE training (required if assignment extends beyond 6 months)
