Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)
Location: Tulsa, OK
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks (03/29/2026 – 06/27/2026)
Shift: Day Shift (06:30 – 19:00) | 3x12-Hour Shifts
Job Summary:
A leading regional tertiary referral center and Level II Trauma Center, is seeking two high-performing Registered Respiratory Therapists. Working within the Pulmonary Diagnostics and general respiratory care units, you will be a vital member of the interdisciplinary team managing patients with acute and chronic respiratory insufficiencies. This role requires a clinician who is expert in advanced modalities, from routine nebulizer treatments to critical ventilator management and emergency code response.
Key Responsibilities
- Advanced Airway Management: Implement and monitor mechanical ventilation, BiPAP/CPAP, and high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) for patients in respiratory failure.
- Patient Assessment & Care Planning: Evaluate patients for appropriate treatment frequency and type; adjust care plans based on diagnostic data and clinical outcomes.
- Emergency Response: Serve as an essential member of the emergency resuscitation (Code Blue) and Rapid Response teams.
- Pharmacological Intervention: Administer bronchodilators, inhaled steroids, and other respiratory medications while monitoring for efficacy and side effects.
- Diagnostic Support: Assist with or perform pulmonary function testing (PFTs) and arterial blood gas (ABG) draws and interpretation.
- Patient Education: Transition care by educating patients and families on disease management (COPD, Asthma) and community support programs.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Certification: Active NBRC (National Board for Respiratory Care) RRT credential is required.
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of acute care experience (critical care experience preferred for advanced modalities).
- Licensure: Active Oklahoma (OK) Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
- Certifications:
- BLS (American Heart Association) – Required.
- ACLS (American Heart Association) – Required.
- Clinical Skills: Proficiency in advanced respiratory modalities and familiarity with computerized charting.
