Description
Utilization Review Nurse – Critical Need
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical RN to join our Utilization Review (UR) team. This pivotal role focuses on ensuring patients receive medically appropriate, high-quality care while supporting compliance with organizational and payer standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct clinical reviews for inpatient and outpatient cases, evaluating medical necessity using InterQual or MCG guidelines.
- Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, case managers, and insurance representatives to resolve authorization and level-of-care decisions.
- Prepare appeals for denied claims and identify trends impacting utilization.
- Support discharge planning, case management, and care coordination.
- Contribute to process improvements that enhance documentation accuracy and patient outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Active RN license
- BLS certification
- Minimum 1 year of experience in utilization review, case management, or related nursing roles
- Experience with MCG guidelines and EPIC (preferred)
- Strong analytical, communication, and critical-thinking skills

- Schedule: 5x8 Days
- Contract Length: ~11.5 weeks
- Start Date: 2/9/2026
- Remote work may be possible depending on orientation requirements
