Job Title: Travel Registered Nurse – Hospice
Location: Basking Ridge, New Jersey 
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Schedule: 37.5 Hours/Week – 11:00 AM to 7:00 PM, 5 Days/Week (Every Other Weekend Required)
 

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments to determine appropriateness for hospice care and evaluate patient progress toward care goals.
• Develop and implement individualized plans of care for hospice patients and their families.
• Ensure appropriate utilization of hospice services while maintaining visit productivity standards.
• Complete admission, discharge, and revisit documentation within required timeframes and perform electronic data transfers.
• Provide age-appropriate education to patients and families regarding disease progression, medications, and care plans.
• Assume case management responsibilities, including care coordination, scheduling, and prioritizing patient needs.
• Participate in interdisciplinary team (IDT) meetings every two weeks to review and update care plans.
• Conduct Home Health Aide (HHA) supervision and collaborate with care team members to ensure high-quality care delivery.
• Maintain a safe environment for patients and staff, following infection control protocols.
• Demonstrate knowledge of pharmacology and medication safety, including medication reconciliation and maintaining current medication orders.
• Participate in performance improvement programs, quality initiatives, and staff meetings.
• Support agency growth by mentoring new employees and cross-training when required.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of Registered Nurse experience in a home hospice environment.
• Experience working with Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
• Strong critical thinking, clinical judgment, and communication skills.
• Experience with GIP (General Inpatient) hospice care in a hospital setting.

Education Requirements

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ASN) or Diploma in Nursing with a valid RN license.

Required Certifications & Licensure

• Active New Jersey Registered Nurse (RN) License
• BLS Certification
• Valid New Jersey Driver’s License

Compensation

• Gross Weekly Pay: $2,806
• Weekly Stipend (Meals & Lodging): $1,526
• Taxable W2 Rate: $32/hour
