- Guaranteed Hours: 48 Hours per Week
ob Description
Under general supervision, the Respiratory Care Practitioner provides respiratory therapy services in a timely and efficient manner for patients across all age groups served by the department.
Essential Responsibilities
- Administer therapeutic respiratory treatments as prescribed by physicians
- Record treatment details and patient responses in the electronic medical record
- Perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory diagnostic testing and monitoring
- Serve as a resource for physicians and healthcare staff
- Provide age-appropriate respiratory care for pediatric patients
- Maintain and clean respiratory equipment
- Maintain accurate respiratory therapy records
- Participate in rapid response and cardiac/respiratory arrest teams
- Perform additional duties as assigned
Required Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge of respiratory therapy procedures and techniques
- Ability to operate and maintain respiratory equipment
- Strong clinical decision-making related to pulmonary and cardiac care
- Ability to interpret patient data and respond appropriately
- Ability to work effectively in high-stress clinical environments
- Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills
- Basic computer proficiency
Experience
Required
- None specified
Preferred
- Minimum 2 years respiratory therapy experience in a critical care setting
- Pediatric hospital experience preferred
Licenses & Certifications
Required
- Licensed as a Respiratory Care Practitioner by the Oklahoma Board of Medical Licensure and Supervision
- Registered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
- BLS Certification – American Heart Association
