Travel Surgical Tech – Operating Room

• Location: Tracy, CA
• Start Date: 04/13/2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Days – 5x8 hrs (10:30 AM – 7:00 PM or 11:00 AM – 7:30 PM)
• Facility: 81-bed Acute Care Community Hospital
• Unit: Operating Room (4 OR rooms)
• Average Cases: 10–15 per day

Requirements:

• BLS Certification
• Minimum 2 years of recent Surgical Tech experience
• Travel experience required
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program or military scrub tech training

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and maintain the sterile surgical field
• Assist surgeons by passing instruments, holding retractors, and anticipating surgical needs
• Set up and check surgical instruments and equipment
• Support OR workflow including supply management, documentation, and equipment maintenance
• Maintain sterile technique and patient safety protocols

Common Surgical Cases:

• Orthopedics: Arthroscopy, total joints, ORIF, spine procedures
• General Surgery: Appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, colectomy
• OB/GYN: C-sections, hysterectomy, laparoscopic procedures
• Urology: Cystoscopy, nephrectomy, TURP, robotic procedures
• Plastics, Bariatrics, ENT, Thoracic, Ophthalmology, and Vascular procedures

Call Requirement:

• On-call required (overnight weekdays, weekends, and holidays)
• 20-minute response time
• Typically 1 weekday call/week and 1 weekend/month

Additional Notes:

• 50-mile travel rule (locals accepted at lower rate)
• Only one holiday RTO allowed
• Free parking available.
