Position Overview

CarolinaEast Medical Center is seeking an experienced Travel MRI Technologist to join their radiology team. The MRI Tech will perform diagnostic imaging procedures while ensuring patient safety, image quality, and adherence to departmental protocols.

This role requires experience working in acute care settings with adult and geriatric patients and the ability to operate Siemens and Philips MRI systems.

Schedule

• Shift: Nights
• Hours: 4 x 10-hour shifts
• Days: Monday – Thursday
• Shift Time: 7:30 PM – 6:00 AM
• Contract Length: 13 weeks

Key Responsibilities

• Perform MRI diagnostic imaging procedures for inpatient and outpatient populations
• Prepare patients for procedures and explain imaging processes
• Administer and monitor contrast media when required
• Ensure compliance with radiation safety and infection control protocols
• Start peripheral IVs when necessary
• Operate MRI equipment including Siemens 1.5T and Philips 3T scanners
• Perform post-processing imaging including MIP, MPR, diffusion imaging, and ADC mapping
• Collaborate with radiologists, nurses, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure accurate diagnostic imaging

Clinical Experience

MRI Techs should be experienced performing imaging across multiple body systems including:

Head & Neck

• Brain
• Cranial nerves
• Orbits
• Face/soft tissue neck
• MRA/MRV studies

Spine

• Cervical
• Thoracic
• Lumbar
• Sacrum/coccyx
• Spinal trauma

Abdomen & Pelvis

• Abdomen
• Pelvic imaging
• MRCP
• Abdominal MRA

Musculoskeletal

• Shoulder
• Hip/pelvis
• Knee
• Hand/foot
• Long bones

Required Qualifications

Experience

• Minimum 2 years MRI experience
• Travel experience required
• Experience with PACS imaging systems
• First-time travelers will not be considered

Certifications

• ARRT (MR) – Required
• ARRT (R) – Required
• BLS Certification

Traveler Requirements

• Permanent residence must be 50+ miles from facility (no locals accepted)
• 2 professional references from assignments within the past year
• Return travelers must be away for at least 1 year and remain in good standing
