Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to join an Advanced Thoracic Oncology Center in an acute care setting. The Respiratory Therapist will be responsible for performing pulmonary function testing and various respiratory diagnostic procedures, evaluating preliminary data, and recommending or performing additional testing as needed according to departmental policies. This role requires collaboration with physicians and healthcare teams to support patients with complex respiratory conditions.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Perform pulmonary function testing (PFT) and other respiratory diagnostic procedures.
- Evaluate preliminary diagnostic data and recommend additional testing as appropriate.
- Administer respiratory therapies and monitor patient response to treatments.
- Operate and maintain respiratory therapy equipment in accordance with facility policies.
- Document patient care and diagnostic results accurately using the MEDITECH charting system.
- Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient care.
- Educate patients and families on respiratory therapies, procedures, and care plans.
- Maintain compliance with infection control, safety, and regulatory standards.
- Travel between designated clinical sites as required.
Required Skills
- Strong knowledge of pulmonary function testing and respiratory diagnostic procedures.
- Ability to analyze diagnostic data and recommend appropriate testing.
- Proficiency with respiratory therapy equipment and procedures.
- Excellent patient assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
- Familiarity with electronic medical record systems such as MEDITECH.
Requirements
- Associate’s Degree in Cardiopulmonary Technology, Respiratory Care, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in pulmonary function testing (PFT) administration or respiratory care.
- GA State RRT License
- RRT Certificate through NBRC
- Active Respiratory Therapy license in both Georgia and South Carolina.
- AHA - BLS,ACLS
- Ability to travel between two clinical sites as required.
