Job Title: Registered Nurse – Neuro Telemetry (MS/Tele)
Location: Lubbock
Contract Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Day Shift – 3x12 (06:45 AM – 07:15 PM)

Job Description

We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Neuro Telemetry / Medical-Surgical Telemetry to join a fast-paced acute care environment. The RN will be responsible for providing comprehensive nursing care to patients with neurological and cardiac conditions requiring continuous monitoring and advanced clinical interventions.

The RN will perform detailed patient assessments, monitor telemetry rhythms, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The nurse must be comfortable managing multiple high-acuity patients while maintaining patient safety and adherence to hospital protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care to Neuro Telemetry and Medical-Surgical patients.
  • Monitor continuous cardiac telemetry and respond to rhythm changes.
  • Perform neurological assessments and monitor patient status changes.
  • Administer medications, IV therapies, and treatments per physician orders.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and healthcare teams for care planning.
  • Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes in EMR.
  • Respond to emergency situations including rapid responses and code events.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and discharge instructions.
  • Float to other units within the facility as required.

Schedule & Requirements

  • Shift: Day 3x12 (06:45 AM – 07:15 PM)
  • Weekends: 6 weekend shifts per 6-week schedule
  • On-Call: Not required
  • Floating: Yes, between units if needed
  • Experience Required: Minimum 1 year RN experience

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active RN License (Compact License preferred)
  • BLS (AHA)
  • ACLS (Preferred)

Additional Information

  • Travelers must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays if scheduled.
  • Free employee parking available.
  • Travelers may float to sister facilities if required.
