- Bachelor of Science, Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Associate of Science in Nursing
Description
Minimum experience: 2 years of Level III-IV NICU
Required License/Certifications: BLS, NRP, WA state license
Skills required: MUST HAVE VENT EXP., trachs, g-tubes, NG/OG, NCPAP, UAC/UVC management, PICC lines, med admin, care plans, DC to home; looking for someone with a good attitude who’s friendly.
Consider first-time Traveler? Yes, but travel experience strongly preferred
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: prematurity down to 22 weeks gestation, RDS, high-risk deliveries and patients, feeders/growers, NAS; preferred experience – surgical patients, HIE (Hypoxic-ischemic encephalopathy)
EMR: EPIC
Floating: possibly to ER to act as a sitter, but rare
Weekend rotation: every other; may have a few back-to-back weekends, but rare
On call? No
Shift times: 0700-1930 or 1900-0730
Scrub Color: any
153 bed level II children’s hospital with level IV NICU (2nd highest in the state)
Beds: 70 NICU beds, census is typically around 50
Notes: block scheduling possible, but not guaranteed
NICU is part of the Pediatric Hospital attached to the adult hospital, with high-risk labor and delivery. Private rooms in NICU, overflow of Level II Nursery for feeders/growers
