Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive care for premature and critically ill neonates in a Level III NICU setting.
- Monitor and manage infants with conditions such as respiratory distress syndrome (RDS), prematurity, hypoglycemia, hyperbilirubinemia, and intrauterine growth restriction (IUGR).
- Administer medications and titrate drips including antibiotics, surfactant, TPN, epinephrine, iron, and multivitamins.
- Provide care for neonates requiring respiratory support including ventilators and bubble CPAP.
- Assist with central line management and neonatal procedures as needed.
- Attend high-risk deliveries (under 36 weeks, C-section, IUGR cases) and assist with APGAR scoring and neonatal stabilization.
- Monitor patient condition, assess responses to treatment, and adjust care plans accordingly.
- Collaborate with neonatologists, neonatal nurse practitioners (NNPs), and respiratory therapists to provide coordinated care.
- Maintain accurate electronic documentation using EPIC EMR.
- Support families by providing education and emotional support throughout the infant’s NICU stay.
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum 1–2 years of NICU experience required (Level III or Level IV preferred).
- Experience with neonatal critical care and medication titration.
- Ability to work effectively in high-acuity neonatal environments.
Required Certifications & Licensure:
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) License
- BLS (Basic Life Support)
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
