Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Respiratory Therapy Supervisor, the Respiratory Therapist provides respiratory care services including life-support, resuscitation, monitoring, and medical gas therapy to patients in intensive care and general practice units. The therapist performs both invasive and non-invasive diagnostic procedures and collaborates with physicians and healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy treatments and life-support care to patients.
• Perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory diagnostic procedures.
• Monitor patient responses and adjust therapy as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and billing information.
• Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, and healthcare teams.
• Supervise and guide respiratory therapy students, externs, and staff as assigned.
• Support respiratory therapy services across multiple clinical units as needed.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience.
• Associate Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy preferred.

Certifications & Licensure

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
• Active Respiratory Therapist License – State of Michigan.
• BLS Certification required.
