PCU RN – Quick Summary Unit Details: Unit: PCU Beds: 24 Ratio: 1:3–4 Shift: 12 hrs (6 PM – 6:30 AM) Certifications Required: BLS ACLS NIHSS Common Patient Diagnoses: Pneumonia, ARDS, COVID-19, HTN urgency, Angina, Cardiac cath patients, ETOH withdrawal. Skills Required: PCU experience Drip titration required Common Drips: Amiodarone, Diltiazem, Dopamine, Nitroglycerin, Lasix, Dobutamine. Support Staff: Charge Nurse 24/7 House Supervisor (1100–0730 weekdays, 24/7 weekends) Nurse Aides 1:8–10 Remote Monitor Techs for Tele Equipment: CPAP, BiPAP, High-Flow Oxygen. Other Details: Weekend: Every other Holidays: 2 winter holidays required Standby: Possible if overstaffed Floating: Required Scrubs: No specific color Orientation: Unit specific provided Free on-site parking Schedule flexibility preferred.
