Job Summary

A JCAHO-accredited referral center on the Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute reservations, is seeking two experienced OR Surgical Technologists. Serving a vast 4,400-square-mile area in Northern Arizona, this facility provides a unique opportunity to work in a culturally rich, diverse environment. You will support a wide range of surgical specialties in a fast-paced OR where nearly 50% of cases are ambulatory/outpatient.

Key Responsibilities

• Surgical Scrub Mastery: Set up operating rooms, ensuring all instrumentation and equipment for General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, Urology, and Ophthalmology are functional and sterile.
• Intraoperative Assistance: Assist the surgical team with patient positioning, skin prepping, and draping. Anticipate the surgeon's needs to ensure smooth procedural flow for both adult and pediatric patients.
• Specialty Support: Assist in specialized cases including oral surgery, podiatry, and ophthalmologic procedures.
• On-Call & Rotation: Participate in a rotating call schedule covering nights, weekends, and holidays to ensure 24/7 surgical readiness for the reservation.
• Environment Maintenance: Ensure the sterile field is maintained throughout the procedure and assist with room turnover to meet the hospital's high-volume ambulatory needs.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
• Education: Must provide documentation of one of the following:
  • Completion of an AST-accredited Surgical Technician program.
  • Verifiable On-the-Job (OTJ) training in a clinical or military setting.
• Certification: Must hold a valid CST (NBSTSA) or TS-C (NCCT) certification.
• Life Support: Current BLS (AHA) is required.
• EMR: Proficiency in Allscripts is required.

• Location: Tuba City, AZ 86045.
• Community: northwestern Arizona on the Colorado Plateau; high elevation (4,400–7,000 ft).
• Demographics: Serving Navajo, Hopi, and Southern Paiute tribes.
• Housing: Hospital housing is available; a Housing Application must be submitted 2 weeks prior to start.

• Schedule: Four 10-hour weekday shifts plus on-call.
