Physical Therapist / Occupational Therapist – Contract

Job Overview

We are seeking a qualified Physical Therapist (PT) or Occupational Therapist (OT) to provide rehabilitation services in both inpatient and outpatient settings. Under the direction of the Director of Physical Therapy, the therapist will evaluate patients, develop treatment plans, and deliver therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, function, and overall quality of life. The role also supports departmental operations, quality improvement initiatives, and collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Requirements

  • Licensure: Must hold an active California license as a Physical Therapist or Occupational Therapist.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Certification: Current BLS/BCLS certification required.
  • Knowledge:
    • Physical therapy modalities, anatomy, and physiology
    • Disease processes and rehabilitation principles
    • Infection control and sterile techniques in rehabilitative care
  • Skills:
    • Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving abilities
    • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments
    • Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with Microsoft Office

Key Responsibilities

  • Evaluate patients and develop individualized treatment plans based on physician referrals and patient needs.
  • Deliver therapeutic interventions to improve mobility, functional independence, and quality of life.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed in collaboration with physicians and care teams.
  • Document patient care and treatment outcomes in accordance with regulatory standards and departmental policies.
  • Educate patients and families on therapy goals, exercises, and rehabilitation plans.
  • Ensure safe use and maintenance of therapy equipment and maintain a clean, safe treatment environment.
  • Participate in departmental performance improvement and quality assurance initiatives.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care and ensure adherence to clinical protocols.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all regulatory and organizational policies.
  • Demonstrate professional behavior and effective communication with patients, families, and staff.
  • Adhere to dress code and professional standards.
  • Participate in continuing education, departmental meetings, and quality improvement activities as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and complete assigned tasks within required timeframes.

Work Environment

  • Rehabilitation services supporting inpatient and outpatient populations, including pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.
  • Collaborative healthcare environment working closely with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals.
