Physical Therapist (PT) – Outpatient Contract

Job Type: Contract
Position Urgency: Normal
Duration: 13 weeks
Schedule: Day shifts, approximately 40 hours per week

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Physical Therapist (PT) to provide high-quality rehabilitation services in an outpatient clinical setting, with occasional inpatient support. The Physical Therapist will evaluate patients, develop individualized treatment plans, and administer therapy interventions designed to improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore function. This role involves close collaboration with physicians, healthcare staff, and other departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient evaluations using appropriate tests and measurements based on diagnosis.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and establish measurable therapy goals.
  • Provide one-on-one patient care, typically scheduling 45-minute treatment sessions per hour.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and physical therapy modalities appropriate to each patient’s condition.
  • Reassess and modify treatment plans approximately every six weeks or sooner based on patient progress.
  • Document patient evaluations, progress notes, and treatment outcomes in a timely manner to support physician follow-ups, insurance authorizations, and utilization review requirements.
  • Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
  • Participate in shared coverage responsibilities for occasional inpatient care on weekends or holidays as scheduled.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an accredited Physical Therapy program.
  • Active California Physical Therapist license required.
  • BLS/BCLS certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
  • Minimum of 1 year of physical therapy experience preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and patient engagement skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with patients, physicians, peers, and multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Information

  • Contract position in an outpatient rehabilitation environment with occasional inpatient coverage.
  • Optional dorm-style housing accommodations may be available (subject to availability) in fully furnished apartments with private kitchen and bathroom, Wi-Fi, and access to shared amenities such as a fitness room and recreational spaces.
