DAYS SHIFT : 0500-1330 or 0930-1800
13 WEEK ASSIGNMENT, 36 Guaranteed HOURS
***HTL certification from ASCP is required (not just HT cert) ****
MUST BE A CERTIFIED HISTO TECH (HTL) WITH (QIHC) IMMUNOHISTOCHEMISTRY STAINS AND TROUBLESHOOTING OF PROGRAMS AND PROTOCOLS.
2 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE IN HOSPITAL SETTING REQUIRED
MUST BE FLEXIBLE

· Number of Staff – 2 FTEs
· Type of staff:
o Day Shift – 2 Histotechs
o Night Shift - None
· Patient Ratios –
· Type of equipment – 2 Roche Benchmark Ultra IHC stainers, 1 Roche Special Stainer, 3 Sakura tissue processors, 1 – Thermo fisher Embedding system, 4 – Thermo Fisher slide labelers, 1 – Sakura H&E Stainer/Coverslipper, 4 – Leica Microtomes
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
· Embedding
· Perform Microtomy
· IHC Experience
· Special Stains
· Managing/troubleshooting staining instrumentation
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
- Experience working with little supervision
- higher certification (HTL) with more extensive training which allows them to do Immunohistochemistry stains and troubleshooting of programs and protocols
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
· Logging incoming tissues
· Embedding tissues
· Cutting tissue for staining
· Place slides on staining equipment
· Filing slides and cassettes
