Job Opportunity: Echo Technician
Location: Milwaukee, Wisconsin
Employment Type: Long-Term Assignment (LTA)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Job Description
- Work Hours:
- Regular shift: 07:00 AM – 3:30 PM, Monday to Friday
- Weekend coverage: One weekend per month (Saturday and Sunday, 07:00 AM – 3:30 PM) with compensatory days off during the week
- On-call: Approximately one weeknight per week (3:30 PM – 7:00 AM) and one weekend per month (Friday 3:30 PM – Monday 7:00 AM)
- Holiday coverage: Rotating with regular staff as needed
- Responsibilities:
- Pediatric and adult echocardiography scanning
- Use of EPIC electronic health record system
- May be required to float onsite within skill set or to other sites within 40 miles as needed
Experience Requirements
- Echo Technician with at least 1 year of experience
- Echo Technician experience within the last year
- Experience working with Pediatric patients
- Experience working with Adult patients
- Experience in an Acute Care setting
- Experience with Epic
Certifications & Licenses Required
- CCI certification
Additional Requirements
- Must complete and maintain:
- Ascension Core Competencies (HIPAA, Joint Commission, OSHA topics) with minimum 80% score, updated yearly
- Ascension Skills Checklist (clinical skills), updated annually
- Various health and vaccination requirements including:
- MMR (two vaccines or positive titer, no declinations accepted)
- Hepatitis B vaccination or signed declination
- Influenza vaccine (seasonal, exemptions accepted with mask requirement)
- Fit Test for respiratory protection, updated annually
- Varicella immunity or vaccination (no declinations accepted)
- Tdap vaccination (valid for 10 years, no declinations accepted)
- Tuberculosis screening (PPD or IGRA, chest X-ray if positive, annual questionnaire)
- Health statement or physical exam prior to assignment and updated annually
- Background and screening:
- Criminal background check including Social Security Trace, OIG Search, National Sex Offender Registry, and others, updated annually
- Drug screening: 12-panel urine drug screen within 30 days prior to start, updated annually
- Employment and education verifications, updated as required
- Must provide a valid driver’s license or state ID matching address requirements

This is a 13-week long-term assignment for an experienced Echo Technician with at least 2 years hospital experience.
