You will join a high-risk obstetric team managing a 10-bed L&D unit with 2 dedicated ORs, averaging 80–100 deliveries per month. While L&D is your primary home, this role requires flexibility to float to the 20-bed Maternity/Obstetrics unit. - Surgical Circulation: Assist in the L&D Operating Rooms for both scheduled and emergency Cesarean sections.
- Maternity Floating: Provide care for delivered patients, post-op GYN cases, and stable antepartum patients on the 20-bed OB unit as census requires.
- Safety Sitter Coverage: In low-census scenarios, you may be required to float to Med-Surg units to act as a safety sitter.
- Emergency Intervention: Utilize NRP and ACLS protocols for neonatal and maternal resuscitation if needed.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of dedicated Labor & Delivery/Maternity experience.
- Certifications: * CPR/BLS (AHA) – Required.
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) – Required.
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) – Required.
- Technical Skills: Advanced competency in fetal monitor strip interpretation.
- Licensure: Active New York (NY) RN License.
- Flexibility: Must be comfortable with a rotational schedule; though primarily nights, you must be open to day shifts if discussed in advance.
Unit & Facility Details
- L&D Unit: 10 Beds, 2 ORs (High-risk).
- OB/Maternity Unit: 20 Beds (Delivered, Post-op GYN, Stable Antepartum).
- Volume: 80–100 deliveries per month.
- Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2 in L&D.
- On-Call: Yes, participation in the unit call rotation is required.
Financial & Logistics Notes
- Start Date: ASAP (Targeting 03/30/2026).
- Location: Elmira, NY 14905.

Clinical Spotlight: High-Risk OB at Arnot

Your expertise in Fetal Heart Rate (FHR) interpretation is vital, as the unit manages a significant number of high-risk cases that may require rapid transition to the OR. Your ability to provide "Arnot-level" compassionate care while maintaining strict clinical vigilance during a 12-hour night shift is the hallmark of this role.
