General job duties. Types of procedures required.
Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments, develop differential diagnoses, and implement management plans tailored to acuity and family needs. Independently manage Level II–III patients; participate in stabilization/management of Level IV complexity with neonatology oversight. Lead or assist in delivery room resuscitation, neonatal stabilization, and ED/OB response for neonatal emergencies. Initiate and manage respiratory support (CPAP/HFNC, conventional ventilation; assist with high-risk ventilatory strategies per protocol).
Perform procedures such as umbilical line placement (UAC/UVC), peripheral arterial lines, PICC insertion, intubation, needle thoracentesis/chest tube placement, LP, and other procedures per privileging. Order/interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostics; prescribe medications (including parenteral nutrition) within scope and privileges. Coordinate care plans with subspecialists and facilitate transfer for higher-level services when indicated. Provide continuity of care including daily rounds, progress updates, family conferences, and discharge planning.

Required skills and minimum years of experience.
• Master’s or Doctorate in Nursing with Neonatal Nurse Practitioner focus from an accredited program.
• Minimum 1–2 years recent NICU experience as an RN or NNP
Specific licensures and certifications/registrations required. (ARRT, CRT, BLS, ACLS, etc)
- NRP certification
- BLS and PALS certification
- Current APRN licensure (or eligibility) as an NNP in the State of Oregon.
- National certification as Neonatal Nurse Practitioner (e.g., NCC).
- State license requirement: OR License
