Description

Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist (RT) to provide respiratory care services including life-support, resuscitation, and medical gas therapy to patients in critical care and general practice units. The Respiratory Therapist will perform diagnostic procedures, monitor patient conditions, and collaborate with physicians and healthcare teams to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide respiratory therapy services including life-support, resuscitation, and oxygen/medical gas therapy.
  • Perform invasive and non-invasive respiratory diagnostic procedures for ICU and general practice patients.
  • Monitor patient respiratory status and adjust treatments according to physician orders and patient needs.
  • Accurately document patient care and treatment details in medical records.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, nurses, and healthcare team members regarding care plans.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to respiratory therapy staff, students, and externs when assigned.
  • Maintain clinical competency and support respiratory care services across multiple hospital units if needed.
  • Ensure accurate patient billing documentation related to respiratory services.

Education

Required:

  • Associate of Science Degree in Respiratory Therapy from an accredited program

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Respiratory Therapy

Experience

  • Minimum 2 years of recent Respiratory Therapist experience required

Licensure & Certifications

  • Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
  • Current Respiratory Therapist License – State of Michigan
  • BLS Certification
