Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Telemetry / Progressive Care Registered Nurse (RN) to provide direct patient care using the nursing process. The RN will assess patient conditions, administer treatments, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe and effective patient care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care by assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting patient needs.
• Deliver safe, patient-centered care while ensuring timely and effective treatment.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and established protocols.
• Collaborate with patients, families, and interdisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate care.
• Monitor patient condition and respond to clinical changes appropriately.
• Identify patient education and discharge needs throughout the care process.
• Provide clinical supervision to LPNs and assistive personnel.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.

Required Skills & Experience

• Minimum 2 years of current experience in an 18+ bed Telemetry or Progressive Care Unit
• Must have completed at least one 13-week travel assignment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Strong critical thinking, communication, and patient care skills
• Must successfully pass the Basic Cardiac Arrhythmia (BCA) test prior to start

Preferred:

• Experience with Epic EMR

Education

Required:

• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or ASN

Licensure & Certifications

• Active New Mexico RN License or Compact RN License
• BLS Certification
• ACLS Certification
  (BLS/ACLS must be through American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health & Safety)

Preferred:

• NIHSS Certification
