Description
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and respiratory therapy support for neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients. The therapist will deliver respiratory treatments, ventilatory support, and advanced respiratory care in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Assignment Details
- Contract: 13 weeks (possible extension to 26 weeks)
- Shifts: Varied shifts; block scheduling not guaranteed
- On-Call: Required
- Weekends & Holidays: Required
- Floating: May float within the facility and to locations within 20 miles
- Scheduling: Travel pairs are not guaranteed the same schedule or shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide cardiopulmonary diagnostic testing and respiratory therapy treatments.
- Deliver ventilatory support and respiratory care to neonatal, pediatric, and adult patients.
- Manage advanced ventilation therapies including high-frequency oscillation and jet ventilation.
- Monitor patient response to therapy and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and healthcare teams to ensure effective patient care.
- Maintain accurate documentation in the electronic medical record system.
- Float to other departments or facilities as required to meet staffing needs.
Required Skills & Experience
- Minimum 2 years of current NICU and PICU experience
- 6–12 months of adult critical care, progressive care, med-surg, or general pediatrics experience
- Experience initiating and managing high-frequency oscillation and jet ventilation within the last 2 years
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Preferred:
- Experience with Epic EMR
Education
Required:
- Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Respiratory Care
Licensure & Certifications
- New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License
- Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) – NBRC
- BLS Certification
- ACLS Certification
- PALS Certification
- NRP or NALS Certification
