Cath Lab Technologist - South Charleston, West Virginia
Job Overview
- Specialty: Cath Lab Technologist (Radiologic Technologist in Cath Lab)
- Location: South Charleston, WV
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Unit: Cath Lab Tech
- Shifts: Five days per week; start and stop times vary based on case schedule
- Call Requirements:
- Mandatory on-call for Rad Techs
- One week of on-call per four-week schedule (Monday 7 AM to following Monday 7 AM)
- Call can be consecutive or split throughout the week
- Weekend call from Friday after hours until Monday 7 AM (if not on Monday-to-Monday call)
- Rotational holiday call
- Call response time: 30 minutes
- Floating: No floating required; extra hours possible on other units if experienced
- Orientation: General hospital orientation plus up to 36 hours (one week) of department-specific training
- Dress Code: Surgical attire provided
Patient Population & Work Environment
- 2 Cath Lab suites/labs
- Average 5-10 cases per day
- Common procedures: Diagnostic left and right heart catheterizations, PCI, IABP, Temporary pacemaker
- Equipment: Siemens software and equipment
- Cardiologist on-call 24/7
Required Certifications & Licenses
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in West Virginia
- ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- Radiation badge required (provided by agency, not facility)
Requirements/Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of Cath Lab Technologist experience within the last year
- Experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Valid Cath Lab Technologist license in West Virginia
- ARRT certification
- BLS certification
Additional Notes
- Candidates living within 50 miles of the facility are not accepted
- Maximum tenure with the system is 1 year total (across facilities)
- After 1 year, a 2-year break is required before returning
- Prior employees must have been away from the system for 2 years before reapplying
- Candidates with license issues will not be accepted
