Required Experience

2 years experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
6–12 months experience in:
- Adult critical care
- Progressive care
- Medical-surgical care
- General pediatrics

Education

Associate’s Degree or Diploma in Respiratory Care

License

New Mexico Respiratory Care Practitioner License

Certification

Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)

Life Support Certifications

BLS (Basic Life Support) from American Heart Association, American Red Cross, or American Health and Safety Institute
ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support)
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) or NALS
