Job Opportunity: Physical Therapist - Acute Care Hospital

Location: Mount Vernon, Illinois
Employment Type: Travel/Contract
Contract Length: 13 weeks

Job Description

• Position: Physical Therapist (PT) in an acute care hospital setting
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• Rehabilitation hospital experience preferred
• Schedule includes Friday, Saturday, Sunday plus an additional day
• On-call rotation every 7 weeks for coverage as needed
• Holiday rotation: one holiday per year
• Attire: Caribbean blue or khakis with lab coat
• Travelers must shave for mask fit testing (no PAPRs or CAPRs allowed)

Required Qualifications

• Physical Therapist license valid in Illinois
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system required
• Acute care experience mandatory
• Must pass respirator fit testing onsite (travelers must shave for proper mask seal)

Experience Requirements

• Specialty: Therapy/Rehabilitation (Physical Therapy)
• Minimum 1 year of acute care experience required
• No explicit prior travel experience required

Orientation and Compliance Requirements

• Completion of facility-specific orientation modules and checklists
• Background check within 12 months, including criminal, SSN trace, and nationwide search
• Drug screening within 12 months of start
• Physical exam within 1 year indicating good health
• Immunizations and health documentation including:

  • TB test or chest x-ray within 12 months
  • Flu vaccine or approved medical/religious exemption (annual renewal required)
  • COVID vaccine series preferred
  • Other immunizations (Rubeola, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Hepatitis B) per facility standards
• OSHA Respirator Clearance required prior to start
• Fit mask testing onsite during first week of orientation
• Completion of confidentiality, security agreements, and standards of ethical conduct

• Locals are accepted for this travel/contract position
• Candidates must comply with all facility-specific documentation and training requirements
• Failure to comply with fit testing requirements will result in cancellation of assignment
