Position Description

SHIFT: Monday-Friday 8AM-4:30PM

START: ASAP

Type of patients on the unit: Primarily adult echo with occasional pediatric tele-med

REQUIRED Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

1. BLS required
2. DCS, RCS, RDMS through ARDMS or CCI

Weekend Requirement:

Weekend is rotating every 5th week

On Call Requirement:

On call 1 week every 5th week

Nurse / Patient Ratio:

6-8 echos per day
 

Summary:

Perform quality diagnostic echo cardiology procedures independent of supervision and responds to the cardiologists input as appropriate. Assume responsibility for related tasks as assigned. Promotes teambuilding initiatives within service line and departments serviced. Behavior and communication skills must align with the organizations mission, values, and culture.

Responsibilities:

1. Performs all routine echocardiograms for evaluation of possible abnormal heart defects or disease.
2. Assists physicians with transesophageal echocardiograms.
3. Performs stress echocardiograms to evaluate for coronary artery disease.
4. Notifies physicians daily for exam interpretation. Checks weekly for needed supplies.
5. Demonstrates competence to perform assigned patient care responsibilities in a manner that meets the age specific and developmental needs of patients served by the department.
6. Appropriately adapts assessment, treatment, and/or service methods to accommodate age-specific or other developmental needs of of the patient.
7. Demonstrates adherence to the Core values of Healthcare.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

1. High School Diploma required
2. Graduate of an accredited school of Ultrasound Technology preferred

Experience

1. Two years of experience in cardiology field preferred
2. Experience with stress testing is preferred

1. BLS required
2. DCS, RCS, RDMS through ARDMS or CCI
