Description
Responsibilities
Provide perioperative nursing care for pediatric and adult patients undergoing surgical procedures
Assist the surgical team in maintaining a safe and sterile operating room environment
Prepare the operating room with necessary instruments, supplies, and equipment for surgical procedures
Monitor patient status before, during, and after surgical procedures
Document patient care and surgical information using the EPIC EMR system
Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesia providers, and surgical staff to ensure safe and effective surgical outcomes
Participate in on-call coverage and respond to emergency surgical cases as required
Float to nearby surgery centers or other OR locations if needed
Requirements
Experience
Minimum 2 years of Operating Room RN experience required
Travel assignment experience preferred (at least 1–2 assignments)
Experience assisting in a wide variety of surgical procedures including general, orthopedic, neurosurgery, pediatric, urology, oncology, ENT, GYN, and bariatric surgeries
Ability to work in a high-volume surgical environment with approximately 65 cases per day
Licenses/Certifications
Active RN License
BLS – American Heart Association
Education
Graduate of an accredited Nursing program
