Description
Location: San Diego, CA
Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (NOC)
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
On-Call: 1–2 shifts per pay period (30-minute response time)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Position Title
Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced L&D Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care for laboring patients, vaginal deliveries, and Cesarean sections (C-sections). The RN will deliver safe, patient-centered care while collaborating with the healthcare team in a fast-paced OB environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
- Provide care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
- Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections
- Monitor maternal and fetal well-being
- Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient status
- Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
- Serve as patient and family advocate
Required Qualifications
- Active California RN License
- BLS (CPR)
- ACLS
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
- Minimum 3 years RN experience
- Minimum 2 years recent L&D experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong experience in high-risk OB cases
- Ability to float to PACU or related women’s units
Work Environment
- Night shift (NOC)
- Mix of vaginal and C-section deliveries
- May float within women’s services units
- On-call responsibilities required
