Description

Location: San Diego, CA
Shift: 12-hour Night Shift (NOC)
Schedule: 3 × 12-hour shifts
On-Call: 1–2 shifts per pay period (30-minute response time)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Position Title

Registered Nurse (RN) – Labor & Delivery (L&D)

Position Overview

Seeking an experienced L&D Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care for laboring patients, vaginal deliveries, and Cesarean sections (C-sections). The RN will deliver safe, patient-centered care while collaborating with the healthcare team in a fast-paced OB environment.

Key Responsibilities

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care using the nursing process
Provide care during labor, delivery, and immediate postpartum
Assist with vaginal deliveries and C-sections
Monitor maternal and fetal well-being
Educate patients and families on care plans and recovery
Maintain accurate documentation and communicate patient status
Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary teams
Serve as patient and family advocate

Required Qualifications

Active California RN License
BLS (CPR)
ACLS
NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program)
Minimum 3 years RN experience
Minimum 2 years recent L&D experience

Preferred Qualifications

Strong experience in high-risk OB cases
Ability to float to PACU or related women’s units

Work Environment

Night shift (NOC)
Mix of vaginal and C-section deliveries
May float within women’s services units
On-call responsibilities required
